Who We Are

Coral Reef Racing is a family endeavor spanning three generations. Grandpa Steve started racing in his teens with sports cars. After a 20-year hiatus, a friend offered him a chance to come watch an Outlaw Modified race at Hialeah Speedway in Miami. The addiction never goes away, and six weeks later, he owned another race car. With two boys, Patrick and Phillip, it wasn't long before all three were actively participating in racing events for 13 years. Life happened, and racing was put on hold until one day an opportunity arose to take Grayson to what is known as an arrive and drive event. Grayson, being just 9 years old at the time, was thrilled to drive a Quarter Midget and impressively set the second fastest time of the session, despite never having driven even a go-kart before this. Steve looked over at Phillip and said, 'Well, it looks like we are going racing again.' And so it began. Never content with just one race car, Coral Reef Racing started with two cars, and within a year, they expanded to three, allowing Grayson to gain valuable seat time across three different classes.

As Grayson soon outgrew the series and found himself at a disadvantage due to his size, the team began searching for another series that would allow him to race at 13 years old. During a visit to a racing event at Hendry County, we watched the Legends Car race and, thanks to a great guy, we were able to sit in a few of the cars. To our surprise, both Grayson and Phillip fit perfectly in them! Guess what? We ended up buying two Legends Cars! As we embark on this journey, we invite you to follow along.
